spring spring spring

What a nice day,

Today I took a walk. Walked with a mission in mind: snap capture life (for commonplace scrapbook). To be honest, have been long behind since spring wrapped its arms around me. Took my Mikael and Cathy along for company. Then walked, watched, clicked pictures of grafitti and other neat potential 'literacy' images. All in all, a good photo afternoon.

Yours in literacy class,

Am sitting here, thinking about anything that is not a 4 to 5 page paper about romantic period poetry,

For the final project: Collaboration. I am leaning towards a project that is useful for my workplace. Many hands make light work. Someone somewhere said something like that, surely. And I think it makes perfect sense. Get together with classmates volunteering at Jane Addams, figure out a useful project, make it happen.

Problem: What to do. I work with the Hmong circle and have trouble making conversation, much less explaining an idealistic project. Perhaps something for the organization as a whole. It might be good to ask the coordinators if they have a specific want.

We'll see.

post post post (number one)

Hello class!

As the title implies, this is my first post of the blog. It [forliteracyclass] has been created for a class that I am taking called 'Literacy and American Cultural Diversity'. Its purpose? Details hours logged at Jane Addams, my plans for the final project (what? already?), open discussion for the class.

I am volunteering at Jane Addams School for Democracy. Working with the Hmong circle. Have only had one Monday night, but feel as if it is the start of something good, meaningful. We'll see - - I'm looking forward to it.
